Slips
This is a typical woman’s undergarment worn under a dress or skirt to help it hang more smoothly. It is also intended to prevent skin chafing when wearing coarse fabrics like wool or fleece. It can be worn for warmth especially in temperate countries. Normally, slips are made of nylon, silk or satin or other slippery material to serve its purpose of making an outer garment hang better. But in warmer countries, slips can be from cotton and the main purpose is to absorb sweat and protect the more expensive fabric from the stains of normal perspiration.

Perfect fit for me..
A slip can be a full slip which means it hangs from the shoulders and extends down to the proper equivalent skirt length or hemline. A half slip, on the other hand, starts from the waist area and extends downwards to the same skirt limit. It is also known as a waist slip. Its antiquated name is petticoat which is rarely used nowadays.
